Presentation
An association is a non-profit organization. It brings together volunteers who share the same interests, around 'a common project. It is not necessarily an organization of general interest, but it never seeks to make a profit.
Mission
Freedom of association was recognized in France by the law of July 1, 1901, concerning the contract of association. An association is based on a specific set of rules governing associations. To create an association, it is sufficient to bring together at least two people with a common and permanent objective. Freedom of association is a principle, but associations are nevertheless subject to oversight. They can be dissolved by court order or administrative action. Those that apply for public subsidies must sign a contract of republican commitment.
